BRT confirms two-car expansion for 2024
Tickford has announced that they will reduce their car count from four to two for the next season. This decision aligns with the recent news that Supercars has purchased the two Tickford Teams Racing Charters, one of which has been sold to BRT. As a result, BRT has confirmed its expansion to a two-car team next season. The other ex-Tickford TRC will be put on hold, resulting in a balanced field of 24 cars across 10 two-car teams and one four-car team (Brad Jones Racing). This reduction in car count will facilitate the logistics of air-freighting cars for overseas rounds and helps resolve issues regarding teams’ championship points and pit booms. BRT owner Tim Blanchard expressed his excitement about the expansion, which he sees as a crucial step in the team’s development. BRT plans to announce their new drivers, sponsors, and other important elements of the expansion in the upcoming weeks, while still focusing on finishing this year strongly. Todd Hazelwood is expected to depart from BRT at the end of this season, making way for Aaron Love to join the main team alongside an experienced Supercars racer, with James Courtney being the favorite candidate.
